anakin hates sand not only for ( simply ) the annoying texture, but what memories conjure with it. images of his mother dying in his arms rockets him back into a zone of pure and raw sorrow. sometimes even worst: a blinding rage. he tries to keep it in check, but every so often he lashes out. there are just some things he cannot handle completely && calmly ( thought let’s face it, he already has trouble with this as it is ), and the death of his mother is one of them. it’s not so much that she died – as everyone does – it’s the mere fact that he holds himself accountable. though he hates sand, it also holds conflicting memories alongside those laced with emotional distraught. he remember tatooine being the place where he grew, though a slave, but a place he grew up nonetheless. he remembers the countless hours of building C-3PO && experiencing his love of piloting. he remembers it being the place the jedi saved him from, even if it meant a destructive path later on. he hates sand, yes, but not for such a simple reason: it holds more meaning to him than almost anything else.
